BayTrust CoachForce is a regional programme that pulls together the power of sport organisations, community funding bodies and Sport NZ to give more people in the Bay of Plenty a great coaching experience.
Donald Koh is the BOPBA CoachForce Coaching & Devlopment Manager. He is available to come and visit schools and clubs across the BOP region to assist with coaching and development of the game. He is based at the Sport BOP offices in Tauranga.
Donald is from Singapore, has been very passionate with Badminton since at a very young age, worked hard to excel over the years with some great achievements as top Singles player in Singapore, was in several Thomas Cup and Southeast Asian Games teams, Singapore National Singles Champion and represented Singapore in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
He has been involved with badminton coaching since his retirement as a high-performance athlete, working closely with schools under the Ministry of Education, coaching, motivating and inspiring junior players to one day be in the National team representing the nation.
Donald had a 2-year stint at Wellington Badminton Association from 2010 and was the CEO for Singapore Badminton Association in 2017. He was also involved with Community Engagement in Singaporte for 3 to 4 years, working with different age groups across youths, working adults, active agers and getting them to stay active and participating in various sports.
He brings with him a lot of experience, both administrative and especially his technical expertise where we hope the Badminton community will benefit from his presence, upskilling our coaches and players to the next level!
